This is a note my wife sent to her booking agent about the treatment of her family during their flight transfer in Amsterdam on their trip from Vienna to YVR on May 17, 2012. Her dad is a double amputee traveling with his family. His first on an airplane. Their is no excuse for their treatment. Available assistance during plane transfer and seating options on the plane to accomodate his disability was totally unacceptable. They should be ashamed at how their front line ambassadors acted in the name of customer service. The flight number was KL1840 and their ticket numbers were 0062855685292/93/94. My family is back to Europe already. When they were going from Vienna to Amsterdam, they were escorted to the airplane together. In Amsterdam, they were separated and made Erzsebet and Janos walk to the gate and when they boarded the plane my Dad was not there. They had to look for him, and my family was panicking and ready to get off the plane. It turned out that the cart driver took my Dad’s passport and his boarding pass, left him somewhere on the airport and took off with his documents. The KLM head stewardess radioed and alerted people at the airport and my Dad was found. Then, they had to find the driver as he kept my Dad’s documents! What a fiasco. Can you imagine how they felt as they can’t speak any English? After all that, they were seated in the middle of the airplane where it was very difficult for my Dad to get out of the seat as he has no legs at all and the chair’s arm is not movable. Well, they got to Vancouver and they were happy to be here for 3 weeks. I was hoping to get seats in the first row as those places are usually reserved for special passengers and I tried to change their tickets both times – 24 hours prior to the flight - but I was not allowed to do so by KLM. When they went home, the Amsterdam situation was going to be repeated, but I give them a letter and explained that they must stay together at all times. The reaction from the cart driver was to tell them (showing them with his hands) that they should walk together and push the wheelchair vs. giving them a ride. Both times the cart was empty, therefore it was no reason to make them walk! This time Janos was firm enough to demand a ride and refused to walk away and finally they got a ride to their terminal. In Vienna they got proper treatment as before. That was nice! I am not sure if you want to raise this concern with KLM or should I send them a letter myself, as I am very disappointed of their actions as per above. This was not a good advertisement for KLM nor the Amsterdam Airport as how they treat handicapped passengers. I know what would have happened if above would take place in North America… Thanks for your time!

Uitstekend restaurant, EEN ABSOLUTE AANRADER! De eigenaar is een hele aardige man die de klanten prima helpt. De afhaal kan als vanaf 14.00 (de keuken is om 13.00 uur open), en dan krijgt de klant ook nog een drankje tijdens het wachten. KLASSE!

Dear KLM I was always filled with pride when I spoke about KLM. My parents emigrated to South Africa over 70 years ago and they, my brothers and sisters and visiting family have always, whenever possible, flown KLM. At one stage the finest airline in the world. I am horrified to see the bad reviews KLM is getting (Skytrax) and that the airline can only muster 3 stars. What on earth has happened? All those people can’t be wrong... Does KLM management not care? Doesn’t look like it. Do they ever fly anonymous in economy class to test these assertions? My father was a VIP client of the airline in the sixties and seventies and he would certainly be turning in his grave with sadness. Glib PR speak will certainly not allay my anger at the present situation. I suggest the top 10 guys in the company spend a week flying around the world in economy (anonymously of course) and see what they think of their own airline, it’s food, general service, facilities etc. And how it can be approved. Total honesty will have to be exercised and all back slapping and “yo ho what a great airline we are” must stop. An airline is only as good as its last flight. If they won’t do it, I will do it for them and report honestly and fairly. Five stars again and within the year please. But, as is the way of current corporate thinking, this letter will most probably land in bin 13. Sad, this demise of the world’s oldest and one of the greatest airlines. Kind regards Walter Bakker

Hello. We own and run a bed and breakfast in Switzerland Chalet Les Cascades in champery, We have recently had a very unpleasant man staying with us and had some upsetting feedback left Which was both incorrect And racially descriminating towards us and our nationality (British) We have had no one taking this very serious so far from within your company and would like you to have a look at the situation for us please. We have had a very good relationship with booking .com over the years and when something like this happens it would be nice to have your support . We put everything in to making our chalet a lovely place to stay and fully agree with constructive feedback , but when this kind of racial attack on us happens we would like you to take that part of the feedback off, You can understand what this kind of remark makes us feel like after all the hard work we do to make people's holidays as nice as possible. Have a look on trip advisor to see what people are saying about our chalet and you will realise how this remark would hurt us and our business. Many thanks Matthew & Samantha Sheridan Chalet les cascades Champery

Avoid at all costs! There is no Internet from DeKey and you can't get an Internet connection on your own in this building -- the ISPs would not come with cable to this building.
